Dearest brothers and sisters in Christ!
Thank you so much for welcoming me as your English ministry pastor yesterday! The mandarin oranges are, indeed, the perfect gift of the perfect fruit. I took a picture of the gift basket so I won’t feel guilty about peeling the autographed skins.
Though our family won’t be at church to celebrate Christmas with you this year, we want to wish you and yours a joyous, meaningful, and spiritually enriching time! May God continue to lift you up as he has done for me through you!
Now for some odds and ends:
1. Thanks Agape Community Group for hosting yesterday’s Christmas Party! I think I got the best White Elephant gift – next year, let’s have a Hawaiian Christmas theme!
2. It looks like there will be yet another party coming up soon! Look out for an announcement for a college student and young adult party at Ed Chen’s home sometime on Wed., Dec. 29th.
3. Many of you attended the Worship Micro-Retreat on Saturday. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the many great ideas for improving our church’s worship life. I’ll make the recommendations available soon. By the way, here is a YouTube video of worship stations in Russ Yee’s church. Russ says: “If anyone wants to see some of our worship stations in action, here we are at New Hope a couple of years ago. Stations are thanksgiving for the great outdoors (starting with Half Dome–this was summertime), Communion, confession, prayers for Oakland, and prayers for the Beijing Olympics.”
4. Betty Hsu shared with me this fun YouTube link of people in a Mall Food Court breaking out in the Hallelujah Chorus. What a great way to go public with our faith!
5. Christmas Eve service begins at 7:30 PM this Friday. Come and adore him! And then, on Sunday morning, Jeremy Lee will speak as we celebrate the first Sunday of Christmas.
Peace on earth – out,
Tim Tseng
