Vacation Bible School update: more volunteers needed!

Dear friends,

PRAISE GOD!

Through brothers and sisters in Canaan fellowship groups, VBS supplies and donations have poured in this month. I know many of you are praying for VBS because God is answering in unexpected ways!

MANY KIDS REGISTERED FOR VBS (TOO MANY?!)

I am excited to share that we have a record number of students signing up for VBS this year!

74 kids registered for VBS so far (about one-third from Canaan, one-third from other churches, and one-third not attending any church). Most of the nonchurchgoing kids are Mandarin-speaking preschoolers.

But we do not have enough volunteer staff to accept any more children while maintaining a good student:staff ratio. The VBS staff registration deadline was May 31. So we may to start a waiting list for students this week.

INVITING EVEN MORE KIDS

Even though we don’t currently have enough VBS staff to accept more students, we are still inviting more kids to register for VBS (in faith that God will provide more staff this week to accomodate them). It may feel a little awkward to invite kids who might just end up on the waiting list because we don’t have enough staff now, but I believe we should still invite them and see what God will do!

ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS

If you know anyone who would like to join our VBS volunteer team and be a volunteer during VBS week, you may invite them to click on “Volunteer Registration” at VBS.ecanaan.org to sign up today. Volunteers may be youth (entering 7th grade and up) to adults, and we welcome volunteers who speak Taiwanese, Mandarin, English, Spanish, Cantonese, or Indonesian (the languages of the kids signed up to attend VBS).

More volunteers means more children can attend VBS! Please pray with me for trust in God’s provision, in His way and in His time. Thank you!

Blessings,
