I jumped on facebook this morning and the first thing i noticed was the change they made (again). The look was different, the interface was different, the feel was different. The second thing I noticed was the large amount of complaints people had posted on their wall due to this change. It reminded me again just how much people don’t like change.
My guess is that every week we come to church and sit in the same seat (or at least in the general area). We have our favorite restaurants that we always go to and order the same thing every single time. We have the same routine we do every morning. For me, it’s gargling my mouth, putting on my left contact before my right contact, putting gel in my hair (when I actually had hair to gel), and then shaving. It’s the same thing every day.
With the upcoming In-Sync ministries, there is another change that will be happening. We will be shifting our service time to 10am instead of 11:30am. We will have Sunday School the second hour instead of the first. And I can imagine people being uncomfortable with the change. People may complain that the service time is too early. And I’m sure it’ll take some time to get used to the new schedule.
My hope is that we wouldn’t complain, but be excited about these changes that will happen. My hope is that we would jump onboard and participate in both the service and the 2nd hour Sunday School time. My hope is that our church would really be in-sync with one another and with the vision that God has placed on our leaders hearts. Change is coming. Let’s move forward together!
